Get on Stage and ACT!
ACT programs allow students from age 4 - 12 to share something onstage for families and friends at the end of every session, facilitating a comfort level with performing from a young age. Our talented teaching artists love to help children develop their creativity and learn how to collaborate with others.
Alexandria Children's Theatre is a creative haven where everyone is welcome without bias regardless of race, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender nonconforming status.
About Our Classes
Summer Time Fun!
What a fun summer we've had with more than 200 children at our Burgundy Farm and Episcopal High School locations!
There was singing, dancing, laughter and many wonderful skits performed on stage for families and friends. We're so grateful for our talented instructors who bring their love of theatre to camp each week and share the joy of performing with each wonderful group. Bravo, Brava, Bravi - thank you for sharing your summer with ACT!

Classes & Camps!
Don’t tell the kids, but ACT classes seamlessly integrate mindfulness and spatial awareness using age-appropriate theatre games and creative movement activities. It’s a first step down the path of increased self-awareness and understanding no matter what age a student decides to try acting. Learning to collaborate with others, confidently express themselves, and develop an appreciation for the performing arts is all part of the experience. Classes lead to a presentation in front of an audience, with opportunities for children on the quiet side to ease into performing. Our goal is for increased confidence and solid self-expression skills onstage and beyond!
"The play is very creative and fun. And the food is REALLY good! I enjoy using the floaties and toys at the pool too!"
— Caelan, age 11
"I'm nervous and excited to perform. I really like my teachers because they're so nice!" — Grant, age 6
"I like the theatre we're using and the play! Making friends with similar interests has been great!"
— Mary Rose, age 11
