Burgundy Farm Country Day School
ACT classes seamlessly integrate mindfulness and spatial awareness using theatre games and creative movement activities. Learning to collaborate with others, confidently express themselves, and develop an appreciation for the performing arts is all part of the experience. Our goal is to help children develop increased confidence, creativity, and self-expression skills whether onstage or at school. Come Play with Us!
9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Classes
Winter Stories on the Farm
Ages 4 -5 | Saturdays | 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Little Stars will learn a lot in this fun-filled class! Each week they’ll listen to a different story or poem with a winter theme and then bring it to life through creative movement activities and short songs. Collaboration and teamwork skills will strengthen as students take turns sharing their ideas. Every voice is heard in this beginning acting class. Parents will be invited to a short, sweet class presentation onstage on the last day.
Dancing with Disney Songs
Ages 6 -8 | Saturdays | 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Students will explore the art of musical theatre with their favorite Disney songs! In this class actors will learn about performing and develop musicality (moving rhythmically) as they sing and dance along with Disney songs. Everyone will perform onstage for their families at the final class!
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Classes
Act Out the Story
Ages 6 -8 | Saturdays | 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
The first half of the session, young actors will play confidence-building theatre games and boost their self-expression skills using creative movement and vocal activities. They’ll listen to a story each week and bring the characters to life, learning how to collaborate on a skit.
Actors will perform their skit for parents at the final class!
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Classes
Let's Make a Show!
Ages 6 -8 | Saturdays | 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Actors, writers, and those who like to make up stories are welcome in this creative class! Students will strengthen their collaboration skills as they work together to devise a skit that they'll perform onstage in March. Who knows what they'll come up with as an ensemble?! Families will be invited to see their final skit.
Hamilton Hip-Hopera
Ages 9 -14 | Saturdays | 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Young fans of the fantastic musical Hamilton will LOVE learning two songs and dances from the show with Ms. Imani. Chase the winter blues away with the rousing, stomping sounds of excited dancers onstage at the final presentation in March for families and friends!
